Human Comfort Model
Predicts localized occupant thermal sensation/comfort.
Real-time cabin modeling and advanced radiation modeling
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
GT-TAITherm is an advanced thermal modeling solution that solves 3D conduction, convection, and multi-bounce radiation. Through seamless integration and co-simulation with GT-SUITE, engineers can leverage GT-TAITherm, a specialized version of ThermoAnalytics‘ TAITherm integrated directly within the GT-SUITE environment. This powerful coupling enables real-time capable 3D cabin comfort simulations and advanced radiation analyses by applying system-level boundary conditions to detailed 3D thermal models. The advanced human thermal manikin model quantifies occupant comfort at a physiological level enabling advanced comfort-based control strategies.
HUMAN COMFORT MODEL
GT-TAITherm includes a human comfort model that will allow the user to have an additional target besides traditional temperature and humidity. The human comfort model has localized comfort zones that can be used to determine if cabin insulation or HVAC settings need to be modified.
Learn more about GT-TAITherm’s capabilities, from HVAC component sizing to physiology and comfort modeling.
Yes! GT-SUITE is the ideal tool for sizing HVAC system components. In this use case, a cabin model is developed and then paired with increasingly complex HVAC system models. These can range from simple imposed heat loads all the way to detailed models of air flow, heat exhchangers, fans, compressors and expansion valves. GT-SUITE’s multi-fidelity approach empowers engineers at every stage of development.
No, GT-TAITherm leverages an industry leading proprietary physiology model that improves on the Fiala model.
Yes. This model is available via GT-TAITherm.
Yes. Cabin compound objects and GT-TAITherm provide EHT, PVV and PPD as environmental comfort metrics.
